Together Through Isolation: Emergency Resilience Workshop

Resilience starts with YOU! If you are someone who needs help in an
emergency, you may need to rely on people you know. And if you can take care of
yourself in an emergency, maybe you should think about people you know who
can’t. As the frequency and
intensity of natural disasters continue to rise due to climate change, the risk
of homelessness also increases. Displaced individuals often struggle to find
alternative housing options, especially if their financial resources are already
limited.  Topics covered are to help you to identify your risks and
the risks in your community, help you develop a plan and prepare for stressful
situations you may find yourself or your community in.

About the Facilitator

Ros Rielly is a Principal Community Recovery and Resilience Officer for
the Fraser Coast Regional Council. This position was developed in response to
the 2021/22 flooding events that devasted many areas across Queensland and
other states. The Community Recovery and Resilience Officer program is jointly
funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery
Funding Arrangements.
