CGA-Wet-on wet watercolour workshop no.2

Join artist Zela Bissett for a Wet-on wet water colour workshop as part of her current exhibition 'Behind the Shine'.

Wet-on wet watercolour is a technique which celebrates the fluid qualities of watercolour medium.

It is especially suitable for landscapes and seascapes, where the soft edges and blended colours suggest, rather than define, the subject, leaving scope for the viewer’s imagination.

Zela’s workshop will cover the preparation of paper, applying successive washes of colour and working in sequence from the distance to the foreground.

Zela studied watercolours with distinguished watercolourist David Taylor at McGregor Summer School in Toowoomba in 2019 and in 2020 returned to Toowoomba to study gouache with Noami White. Zela has used techniques taught by both these practitioners in representing the landscapes in her exhibition, 'Behind the Shine'.

Participants will produce several works, including one finished composition and some others to complete in their own time.

All materials will be supplied along with some notes to help remember the main themes.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

• Gatakers Artspace cannot accept responsibility for any changes in personal circumstances. Missed workshops or change of mind are at your own expense.
• If a participant chooses to cancel their confirmed registration, or cannot or does not attend the workshop, the following will apply:
• The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop (in which they are registered) at any time at no charge;
• If notice is received 2 or less days from the scheduled starting date, a refund will not be offered.
• If a workshop is cancelled by Gatakers Artspace a full refund or a reschedule will be provided. Gatakers Artspace will endeavour to advise participants of cancellation at least 48 hours prior to workshop.
