Celebrate the closing weekend of Sammy Hawker: Sound-Forms: Whale Song at HBRG with a suite of presentations ​by marine photographers, conservationists and biologists, featuring:

Emma Brown and Jed Phelps, Underwater Photographers
Hervey Bay photographer Emma Brown and Regional Spotlight artist documents the world of underwater macro within the region. Emma has developed a portfolio of the tiny ecosystems that exist in the waters of the Fraser Coast, which invites viewers to slow down and notice a quieter, more intimate side of our local marine environment.

Attila E. Kaszo, Underwater Photographer, Journalist, Film-maker and Environmental Conservationist
Attila's is a Natural History Photojournalist involved in both terrestrial and underwater ecology and conservation with qualifications apart from photojournalism and film-making include Environmental Management. Attila's book 'Beneath the Surface' was a compilation of his work underwater and he has just completed his next book on Madagascar.

Jessica Buckman, PhD student at the University of the Sunshine Coast
Jessica's research over the next several years focuses on humpback whale ecology and health dynamics, where she will be investigating the stress levels and population genetics of individuals with site fidelity to Platypus Bay, and also updating the spatial use of the whales within the Great Sandy Straits Marine Park. Her previous research has focused on assessing the body condition of coastal dolphins in southeast Queensland, including individuals within the GSSMP.
