2 Day NUNO Felting Workshop with Anita Johnson
- Durée: 2 Jours (environ)
- Lieu: Maryborough, QLD
- Code produit: PBLDKF
Use a variety of fabrics and fibres to create your own individual Nuno Felted piece with internationally renowned Fibre Artist Anita Johnson (formerly Anita Larkin). In this two day workshop you will develop textural and surface design techniques using ways to incorporate colour layering, shadowing and texture.
Numbers are limited and registration is required.
What is Nuno Felting?
Nuno Felting is the laminating of light weight material, such as silk or muslin with wool to create soft draping material that can be used to make garments, scarfs, soft furnishing and wraps of many kinds.
Nuno felted material is better suited for Australia’s climate conditions as it is softer and cooler than straight felted items.
About the Facilitator
Johnson is an Australian artist from NSW making sculptural objects and installations with salvaged broken objects, felt, beeswax, bronze and textiles. These artworks question notions of repair and its historical impetus for a return to wholeness and former utility. Johnson graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Sydney and has since exhibited widely in Australia and internationally. Her practice is characterized by a tactile and poetic approach to materials, where she transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, inviting viewers to reconsider the histories and stories embedded in the objects that surround us.
To learn more about the facilitator you can go to Anita Johnson's website.
