This engaging class combines educational lectures, quick demonstrations, and practical exercises to help you overcome self-doubt and paint with confidence. You'll delve into essential techniques focusing on composition, tonal values, and colour, leaving the workshop with your artwork and new skills to inspire your ongoing creative journey.

About the Artist

Russian born Elena Churilova is an award-winning artist working with oils, pastels and watercolours. Her work is intuitive and inspired.

In 2006 Elena Churilova moved from Russia to Australia as a qualified professional. Inspired by the local scenery, she returned to her passion, painting in a range of various mediums and techniques (oil, pastel, gouache and watercolour) in a style which combines reality and fantasy.  Elena is a member of the National Association for the Visual Arts. Her works reside in private collections in Europe, Australia, USA and Russia.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

  • Gatakers Artspace cannot accept responsibility for any changes in personal circumstances. Missed workshops or change of mind are at your own expense.
  • If a participant chooses to cancel their confirmed registration, or cannot or does not attend the workshop, the following will apply:
  • The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop (in which they are registered) at any time at no charge;
  • If notice is received 2 or less days from the scheduled starting date, a refund will not be offered.
  • If a workshop is cancelled by Gatakers Artspace a full refund or a reschedule will be provided. Gatakers Artspace will endeavour to advise participants of cancellation at least 48 hours prior to workshop.
